MLB's fourth amateur Draft Lottery will take place Tuesday night at the Winter Meetings in Orlando. MLB and the MLB Players Association agreed to the lottery as part of the current collective bargaining agreement in an effort to curb tanking and anti-competitive behavior in general. The top six picks are now awarded through the lottery.
Heading into the NBA's slate of games on Dec. 10, the Brooklyn Nets have the sixth overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft Lottery.
▪ Shortstop Otto Lopez, who was claimed by the Marlins off waivers from the Giants in April 2024, continued his pleasantly surprising evolution last season by hitting 21 doubles, 15 homers and driving in 143 runs, with a .305 on-base percentage. Manager Clayton McCullough says there’s still more to be extracted.
Per MLB.com, the Chicago White Sox have the best odds to win the lottery at 27.73 percent. The White Sox improved after the 2024 campaign, but still finished with a 60-102 record, the second worst in baseball, in 2025. Safe to say, Chicago is desperate for a No. 1 pick.
The A's odds at landing the top pick are fairly reasonable for 2026. We'll find out where they're drafting later this week!
The Minnesota Twins were hoping to garner the No. 1 overall pick for a third time this century. Ahead of the 2026 MLB Draft Lottery on Tuesday in Orlando, Florida at the Winter Meetings, Minnesota was given the second-best odds to get the first pick at 22.18 percent.
